Dams and Hydroelectric Plants

S.A. Paulista invests in the electric power generation segment, which is a promising field for expanding the services it provides. That optimism is more than justified when one notes that Brazil uses only 34% of its hydroelectric potential and that there is growing demand for electricity in the country, due to the prospects for significant economic growth over the coming years and the corresponding expansion of infrastructure services – an average annual rate of 5% has been forecast for the segment.

In the light of that scenario, S.A. Paulista has invested consistently, with a view to increasing its participation in the energy sector. The Company is directing its efforts to implementing projects such as dams and small and medium-scale hydroelectric power plants.
