S.A. Paulista’s logistics and planning capacity has also been directed towards major canal building projects in Brazil. The Company is currently participating in the works for displacement of the River São Francisco, the country's largest water infrastructure project that, when completed, will bring water to 12 million residents of what is known as the Drought Polygon, in the semi-arid region of northeastern Brazil.

Integration of the River São Francisco with river basins in the semi-arid northeast will make it possible to correct a historical imbalance between the water supply and the needs of the population, thereby contributing to the development of the local economies.

The Company's ability to carry out this type of work had previously been tested in the construction of the Castanhão Reservoir Integration Artery, the most important water displacement project in the state of Ceará, responsible for bringing water from the River Jaguaribe to the Fortaleza metropolitan area, a distance of 255 kilometers.

Castanhão I

Implementation of Section 1 of the Castanhão Reservoir Integration Artery, linked to the Fortaleza metropolitan area, involving the construction of 35 kilometers of concrete canals, installation of 18 kilometers of steel siphons and pipelines, construction of a pumping station and the supply and assembly of the equipment necessary for the displacement and integration of the waters of the Castanhão and Curral Velho reservoirs (Ceará state).

Castanhão II

Implementation of Section 2 of the project (between the Curral Velho reservoir and Serra do Félix, in Ceará state), involving the construction of 35 kilometers of concrete canals, installation of 11 kilometers of siphons, with pipes of 2.5 meters in diameter, and the supply and assembly of the equipment.

Pirajussara creek

Channeling of Pirajussara creek, in the western zone of the city of São Paulo, along a stretch of canal between the major road arteries of Estrada de Campo Limpo and Avenida Intercontinental, as well as implementation of a related road complex.

Displacement of the River São Francisco

Construction of civil engineering works, assembly and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment for implementation of the first stage of the project (lots 1, 2 and 7) and building of canal segments with internal drainage system, dams, water intakes, aqueducts, tunnel, footbridges and bridges at intersections with highways (Pernambuco state).
